Maanesten enters UK market with new London store
Danish jewellery and accessories brand Maanesten has entered the UK market with its first UK store, which opened on Beak Street in London’s Soho this month.
In the last few years, Maanesten has grown “at a record speed”. It was founded in 2010 by jewellery designer Lotte Callesen and creative director Henrik Callesen.
Since then, Maanesten has grown with 37 stores in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, and now England. It has more than 200 employees working across design to sales, PR, marketing, production, and “all the creative things”.
Henrik Callesen, creative director of Maanesten, said: “We have big ambitions about being widely represented in the UK Market. We want our stores located in urban areas, like Carnaby in Soho, where we feel a synergy with the surroundings.
“Together with our UK partners, we will balance becoming a well-known brand while staying true to our DNA and values.”
Samantha Bain – Mollison, retail direct at Shaftesbury, added: “We are excited to welcome Maanesten to Carnaby for their first-ever UK store. They will be among other successful Scandi brands such as Stine Goya, Samsøe Samsøe, and GANNI, whose first London stores are also in Carnaby.
“The brand creates unique designs that will sit well in the destination’s retail mix and offers customers products that they cannot find in other UK locations.”
