Tiffany and Co launches third Bird on a Rock collection
Tiffany and Co has unveiled the third iteration from its Bird on a Rock collection that debuted earlier this year.
Inspired by Jean Schlumberger’s brooch that was first introduced in 1965, the new collection features designs in yellow and white diamond suites.
The new design features diamond-encrusted birds “spreading its wings in flight as it flutters gracefully around rare diamonds”.
With each design, the bird’s perch position is tailored to the gemstone that it interacts with, an approach that follows “Schlumberger’s own creative process”.
On the newest pendants and brooches, the feathers are elongated, and the bird’s perspective changes as it showcases the largest diamonds in the collection: Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds of over 20 and 28 carats, and white diamonds of over 10, 20 and 22 carats.
Tiffany and Co. artisans cut the 22-carat D-colour white diamond in the same cushioned, modified brilliant-cut shape as the Tiffany Diamond.
In addition to the new Bird on a Rock collection jewellery styles, Tiffany and Co will also introduce two new Bird on a Rock timepieces for the first time in 39mm.
Handcrafted from 18k white gold—with a platinum, 18k yellow gold and diamond bird motif—each Swiss-made 39 mm timepiece features a diamond-encrusted dial and case.
One timepiece features aquamarines and the other showcases a gradient of sapphires, emeralds and blue topazes.
Moreover, each watch is crafted with a self-winding mechanical movement with a power reserve of 38 hours and features an elegant alligator strap.
The fall expression of the Schlumberger by Tiffany and Co Bird on a Rock collection will debut at an exclusive high jewellery celebration this October.
